A delegation from the University of Zakho consisted of Dr. Ahmed Fattah Abdulrahman and Mr. Hameed Tawfiq Abdulla from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science participated in two workshops that were organized by the Departments of Physics and Chemistry, College of Science, Salahaddin University, Erbil- Kurdistan Region- Iraq. The two workshops took place in Erbil from17th to 18th of April 2019.
The first Workshop was about the Fundamental and Application of Density Functional Theory (DFT). The main goal of this workshop was sharing the recent information about the Application of Density Functional Theory (DFT) in Simulating and Modeling Nanostructures. The second workshop was about Nanotechnology Application in Chemistry. The main goal and objective of this Workshop were understanding the scope of the Nanotechnology applications in terms of what are the objectives, how are we achieving them and who can work on this technique, and appreciating why this new science is important, i.e. why we need Nanotechnology to be embedded in the work achieved by us now, and what is the long-term goal.
It is worth mentioning that these two workshops were held in cooperation of researchers from the three University of Iran such as Urmia University of Technology, IAU, Mahabad Brunch, and Tehran University, and Salahaddin University. At the end of the workshops, they were honored the certificate of participation, in appreciation of their efforts.
